SGMC Health has named Jaclyn Quinones as its new Director of Biomedical Services, a role in which she will oversee the maintenance, repair, and performance of medical equipment across the health system’s hospitals and clinics.

Quinones will lead the Biomedical Services department, which is responsible for ensuring that critical medical equipment used in patient care is safe, reliable, and functioning properly throughout SGMC Health facilities. She will manage a team of technicians who support clinicians and caregivers across the organization.

Before joining SGMC Health, Quinones built a career that spans military service, technical healthcare roles, and executive leadership. She began her professional career in the United States Navy, serving as an Aviation Electronics Technician working with infrared and radar systems. She is a Navy veteran and has credited her military experience with providing a strong technical foundation and leadership discipline.

After leaving the military, Quinones transitioned into healthcare technology. She earned an Associate of Applied Science in Biomedical Technology from ECPI University, followed by a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration in Business Management. Her career has included hands-on biomedical work as well as leadership roles in hospital-based and corporate healthcare settings, including regional and divisional management positions.

Quinones said she was drawn to the opportunity to work directly within a hospital environment.

“There is something incredibly meaningful about seeing firsthand how medical equipment supports patient care,” Quinones said. “Knowing that our work directly impacts caregivers and the patients who rely on us is what motivates me every day.”

In her new role, Quinones will focus on implementing best practices in biomedical services and strengthening collaboration across departments, with the goal of supporting high-quality patient care.

Quinones has been married for 25 years to her husband, Orlando. They have two children, Jocelyn and David.
