SGMC Health is pleased to welcome Nicole Centers as Administrative Director of Oncology and Director of the Pearlman Cancer Center. In this role, Centers provides overall leadership, strategic direction, operational oversight, and growth planning for oncology services across the health system.
With more than 23 years of experience in cancer care, Centers brings a deep understanding of oncology operations, multidisciplinary program development, and system‑level service line leadership. She will focus on aligning clinical excellence with operational performance, strengthening quality outcomes, expanding access to care, and ensuring the continued delivery of patient‑centered oncology services for the communities SGMC Health serves.
Centers holds an Associate of Science in Nursing from Macon State College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University, and a Master of Business Administration with a minor in Healthcare Management, also from Western Governors University. Her background uniquely blends clinical expertise with executive‑level healthcare leadership.
Throughout her career, Centers has led comprehensive oncology programs, built and scaled patient navigation services, overseen cancer registry operations, and guided accreditation readiness and compliance with regulatory bodies, including the Commission on Cancer. Her work has been instrumental in improving quality metrics, enhancing care coordination, and driving sustainable service line growth.
“I am excited about the opportunity to strengthen and grow oncology services in a way that truly impacts patients and families in this community,” Centers shared. “I look forward to working collaboratively with physicians, caregivers, and staff to build high‑performing, patient‑centered programs that reflect both excellence and compassion.”
Centers is actively engaged in national oncology leadership, serving in several prominent roles, including Board Member of the Association of Cancer Executives, Board Member and Conference Co‑Chairperson for the National Consortium of Breast Centers, Chair of the Navigation Committee, and Steering Committee Member of the National Navigation Roundtable.
“Nicole’s extensive oncology experience, strategic vision, and commitment to quality make her an outstanding addition to our leadership team,” said Brenda Alexander, Vice President of Physician Network and Chief Human Resources Officer. “Her leadership will be instrumental as we continue to grow and advance cancer services to meet the needs of our region.”
Outside of her professional work, Centers is married to her husband, Charles, an Army veteran and retired heavy equipment operator. They have one daughter, Nyoka, and a granddaughter, Melanie.
