SGMC Health announces the promotion of Luke Parks to Administrative Director, Physician & Perioperative Business Services. In this expanded leadership role, Parks will provide oversight of perioperative business services across the health system, while continuing to lead hospital physician operations.
Parks is responsible for hospital-based physicians and hospital-based contract groups, along with anesthesia services, sterile processing, and the administrative, financial, and day-to-day management of perioperative services. His leadership supports clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and a coordinated care experience for patients and providers.
Parks brings a strong foundation of healthcare leadership experience and education to this role. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration from Middle Georgia State University and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Purdue University. His career progression includes roles as an administrator in training and prior experience as Business Manager of Procedural Services for a health system. He most recently served as Director of Hospital Physician Operations.
“I’m honored to continue growing with SGMC Health and to take on this expanded role,” Parks shared. “I look forward to working closely with our physician and perioperative teams to support high-quality care, strengthen operations, and help position the health system for continued success.”
In addition to his professional experience, Parks is actively engaged in healthcare leadership and professional development through organizations such as the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the Purdue Alumni Medical Network.
“Luke’s strategic mindset, operational expertise, and commitment to healthcare excellence make him an outstanding leader for this role,” said Randy Smith, Vice President of Operations. “His promotion reflects both his contributions to SGMC Health and our confidence in his ability to lead complex physician and perioperative operations that are vital to our mission of delivering extraordinary care.”
