Dr. Anne Price Named Inaugural Executive Director of the Mary Virginia Terry Center for Experiential Learning

Dr. Anne Price, current professor of sociology at Valdosta State University (VSU), has accepted a new role on campus. She will be the inaugural Executive Director of the Mary Virginia Terry Center for Experiential Learning. The center’s goal is to advance innovative, real-world, inquiry-driven, and high-impact educational experiences that prepare VSU students for success. Price has a background in experiential learning and currently serves as coordinator of the university’s Quality Enhancement Plan. She also leads the steering committee for VSU’s annual Blazer Summer Research Institute, and her scholarship focuses on experiential learning. Price’s appointment starts on June 1, 2026.
The Sounds of the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra Can be Heard this Saturday, March 28
The next spring 2026 performance of the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra is this Saturday, March 28 at VSU’s Whitehead Auditorium. The show is titled Four: Progression, and it features music from Gershwin’s “An American in Paris” and Bernstein’s “West Side Story” among others. The preconcert chat begins at 6:15 p.m. with the performances starting at 7 p.m. Whitehead Auditorium is in the Fine Arts Building, located at the corner of N. Oak St. and W. Valdosta State University Employees Enjoy Career Advancement Through Tuition Assistance Program
Employees at Valdosta State University (VSU) have numerous opportunities for professional growth, including the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). After six months of employment, they are eligible to enroll in a degree-seeking program at VSU or other University System of Georgia institutions with tuition and some other fees waived. It is a great way for students to improve themselves professionally while enjoying a rewarding career at VSU. The TAP program covers up to nine credit hours each during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.

Two Important Deadlines Loom for Spring 2026 VSU Graduates
Undergraduate and graduate students set to complete their studies in May from Valdosta State University (VSU) have a couple key deadlines they need to know. Friday, March 27 is the deadline for both spring 2026 graduates to file the paperwork to graduate. That same date is also the deadline to purchase regalia online with assurances it will arrive before the ceremonies. VSU’s Graduate School Commencement is Friday, May 8, and the Undergraduate Ceremony is on Saturday, May 9.
