Chalk Artists Return To Create Fall Art This Weekend

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Wednesday, October 16th, 2024

Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta, Ga. will welcome professional chalk artists this weekend to decorate sidewalks with cheerful fall imagery during the park’s annual Chalk the Walks event.

“Every year during Chalk the Walks, our guests get to watch as sections of sidewalk are transformed into incredible works of art,” said Cindy Romero, director of attractions and entertainment. “It’s amazing to watch these artists at work, and their pieces are always welcome additions to the lights and decor of Great Pumpkin LumiNights.”

Chalk the Walks begins this Friday, October 18, and continues through Sunday, October 20. Artists will be stationed around the Discovery Outpost area, and feature Jessie Queen from Atlanta, Ga, and two more artists.

“The artwork can consist of perfect recreations of your favorite fall movie scenes, fun caricatures of our animal friends and pumpkins and so much more,” said Romero.

Great Pumpkin LumiNights continues every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through October 27 and features new towering pumpkin sculptures, hundreds of new jack-o-lanterns, never-before-seen light displays, and 20 new additions to the LumiNight Legends Pumpkin Gallery.

The LumiNight Legends Pumpkin Gallery contains 170 foam pumpkins hand-carved by professional pumpkin carver, Jim Morey, who will be providing in-person demonstrations and question-and-answer session this weekend inside the gallery.

Great Pumpkin LumiNights is included in park admission or with a Season Pass. 2025 Wild Adventures Season Passes will be available at the best price until October 27, 2024. Park admission and Season Passes can be purchased at the park or online at WildAdventures.com.
