VCS and LCS to Remain Closed through April 24th
Staff Report From Valdosta CEO
Friday, March 27th, 2020
All Valdosta and Lowndes County Schools will remain closed through at least April 24. Governor Kemp issued an order that all of Georgia’s K-12 schools will remain closed through at least April 24, 2020.
According to an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Kemp's order "gives K-12 schools the power to reopen on April 27, though he could extend the closure if the pandemic crisis worsens."
Meals and food bags will continue being offered to children and families through Second Harvest of South Georgia, local churches, and other amazing community agencies (Monday-Friday).
Additionally, academic resources will be offered online and instructional packets will be available at most food distribution sites. To find updated meal sites and academic resources, please visit: one.lowndes.k12.ga.us or gocats.org
