Transcript:

Hi, I’m Curt Fowler with Fowler & Company and today I want to talk to you about thought leadership.  In today’s virtual economy and virtual world that we’re in, being the thought leader in whatever industry you’re in is key ‘cause you want to not -- ‘cause marketing is just lost its effectiveness.  It’s hard to tell people who you are now.  They want to figure it out for themselves and the best way to do that is to be out there providing value for your potential clients, day in and day out.

There are a lot of ways you can do this.  You can do it through blogging, which has become incredibly popular.  There are millions and millions of blogs out there now, but if you create one focused on your client, providing value to that client, and you can really great a following where they’re going to come to you time and time again.

And your clients are going to buy.  It’s just a question of when.  And so if you can stay in front of them as a thought leader and a trusted advisor you’re going to make that sale on the end.  Another way is video blogging, podcast.  All these things are free, or nearly close to free, and the more different ways that your potential clients see your name, hear your name, read your name and maybe even see a video of you talking about something that adds value to them the more trusted you’re going to be as an advisor and the more likely they’re going to be to turn to you when they’re finally ready to make that purchase decision.

The easiest way to make sells today is to have your clients come to you.  And the only way to do that is to create what I call marketing gravity.  How can you create a gravitational pull that brings your clients to you?  You do that through all the various media sources out there.  You do that through writing; you do that through your speaking.  You can do it through blogging, podcasting, video podcasting, and print, or they can be an ad to your traditional marketing program setting you out as a thought leader.  When somebody needs to know something about your specialty they know that you’re the person to go to and then they reach out to you when they are ready to make a purchase.  And that customer is a lot easier sell than going out and making cold calls.

I’d love to help you become a thought leader in your industry.  Please check us out at our website at valuesdrivenresults.com.
