Andrea Schruijer, Executive Director with Valdosta-Lowndes County Industrial Authority.  We are working with Market Street Services on a target cluster analysis for the community and also for Lowndes County in the regional area.  That’s inclusive of our MSA, which is our Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The purpose of the target cluster analysis is for us to take a look at Valdosta and Lowndes County as well as the region as to what assets or resources we have here to recruit industry and also to work with our existing industries to help them grow.  And aspect that we’re looking at is to also look at emerging markets and targets that are being -- that are successful in their growth patterns right now.

And once we do that we can then take the information and start marketing to those specific targets as well as our partners, with site consultants, our team Georgia as we like to refer to ‘em, which involves the Department of Economic Development as well as the utility companies that have economic and community resources.

The target market analysis will rely heavily on public and private input and Market Street will take that information and analyze it to see what best fits in to, again, those emerging markets and what we currently have here in our community.

As you’re aware, as the community is aware, we’ve invested significantly in our product and now it’s time for us to make sure that we’re recruiting the right targets to allow for a sustainable economy.
