These Georgia-based small businesses are selling their products in markets across the globe by partnering with GDEcD’s International Trade team. With on-the-ground experts in 12 strategic international markets, Georgia’s trade experts helped businesses across the state reach more than 215 countries in 2022 alone.  

Sweet, Salty, Savory 

Perfect for on-the-go friends and family, these snacks offer a wide variety of sweet and salty flavors and are perfect for a road trip through the state.

Byrd Cookie Company’s Bakery Bags 
With roots starting near the Port of Savannah, Byrd Cookie Company partnered with the International Trade team to expand from its storefront in scenic downtown Savannah to Costa Rica in 2011. This cookie company is one of the fastest-growing family-owned cookie companies in the United States, and its delicious treats can be found around the globe from Canada to Japan. 

Sunnyland Farms’ Candied Pecans 
Since 2018, family-owned Sunnyland Farms in Albany has exported its pecans to markets including Germany and Israel. They are now eyeing new markets to deliver more of their Georgia Grown™pecan treats to stores, matching a global demand for Georgia agriculture products. In fact, Georgia produces an estimated 100 million pounds annually and is the top producer in the United States, according to the Georgia Pecan Commission. 

More Treats from Symphony Chips, Pickled Pink, and Cooper’s Gourmet 

You can also consider savory snacks from Symphony Chips and Pickled Pink, whose condiments can be found in 28 states across the country as well as Canada and Japan. If you’re flying internationally on Delta Air Lines or American Airlines this holiday season, you might enjoy specialty cheese straws and biscuits from Roswell-based Cooper’s Gourmet, a new addition to the trade community, on your flight!  

Stay and Sip Awhile  

Whether it’s starting the morning off right or ending on the right note, these beverages can make a long day easier. 

Urban Tea Party’s and Volcanica Coffee’s Custom Blends 
Start the morning off with fresh roasted coffee from Volcanica Coffee, or sip one of Urban Tea Party’s many blends! Family-owned Volcanica Coffee has been exploring new markets, including Korea, since 2020, with an eye on expanding its reach. Urban Tea Party also has plans to dip into a new market, eyeing Canada for its international launch and meeting the State of Georgia’s international representatives in Montreal for insights.  

ASW Distillery’s Craft Whiskey  
ASW Distillery’s award-winning craft whiskey can be found at game nights at the Battery Atlanta, home of the Atlanta Braves, or enjoyed at its distillery in Buckhead. You can also purchase a handle for home at the whiskey exchange in West End. New to exporting, ASW has been a hit, expanding its locations and operations to keep up with sales.

Women-owned Lumistella, based in Atlanta, is best known for its Elf on the Shelf line. After taking off in 2005, Lumistella’s products can be found in households in at least 19 countries across five continents. 

Brown Toy Box‘s STEAM-based learning activities  
Brown Toy Box has made it a mission to make culturally representative, accessible, high-quality products using a data-driven approach to product development. The company is looking for ways to deliver these STEAM-based learning activities to families in new markets.
