Feb. 28 | LMIG Program Provides Funding to Repave City Streets
The City of Valdosta will resurface more than three miles of city streets using funds provided by the Georgia Department of Transportation Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant and SPLOST VII, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 28, weather permitting. Read more.

March 2 | Future Journalists Meet with Mayor John Gayle        
Mayor John Gayle will welcome Ted Geltner’s News Writing Class from Valdosta State University for a mock press conference, on March 2, at 2:15 p.m., at Valdosta City Hall. The City hosts the event each semester to provide the students with hands-on experience for their future news writing careers and to introduce them to local government. March 2 | Free Community Screening of the Movie “Our Soldier”                                                      
Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will host a free community screening of the movie “Our Soldier” on Thursday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m., at the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts, located at 527 N. Patterson Street. This event is sponsored by Ms. Eleanor Howard and endorsed by the Valdosta-Lowndes County Film Initiative. Seating is limited, so please RSVP at 229-247-2787.
