Friday, September 30th, 2016

The Berrien County Chamber of Commerce and Berrien County VFW Post 5978 will host a forum for the Sheriff’s candidates on Thursday, October 13th at 6 p.m. at the VFW Post located on the Tifton Highway.  All candidates have agreed to participate in the event.  Chris Beckham, the host of The Morning Drive on 105.9, will serve as the moderator for the event.

The forum will begin with the introduction of the candidates followed by questions from a panel of law enforcement professionals from the Georgia Sheriffs Association and the Georgia Jailers Association.  Candidates will answer questions from the audience.  Audience questions must be submitted in writing.  Pens and paper will be provided.  Audience questions will be drawn at random by the moderator for as long as time allows.

“This event is an important part of the process of selecting our next Sheriff,” said Bo Lovein, Chairman of the Berrien County Chamber Board of Directors.  “This forum is an excellent opportunity for the citizens of Berrien County to come do their homework and find out more about each candidate running for the office of Sheriff.”

The forum is free and open to the public.  For more information or questions regarding the forum call 229-686-5123.
