Wednesday, August 31st, 2016

Representing Georgia’s 1st District, United States Representative Buddy Carter of Pooler recently toured the campus of Valdosta State University. During his visit, he met with Dr. Kelli Brown, interim president, and learned more about VSU’s marketing and rebranding efforts, innovative programs, and plans for the immediate future. He talked to students, posing for a group photo with Honors Student Association members selling cotton candy, and also met with Dr. Thomas Manning, a professor in the Department of Chemistry, to learn more about his ongoing research into cost-effective, life-saving cancer and tuberculosis treatments, as well as artificial reefs. Carter was joined by several staff members, including Jud Seymour, his district director and two-time VSU alumnus.
