Georgia Power Foundation generously donated $5000 to Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (WGTC) Foundation South to support students and programs at the college.

Georgia Power has been a strong partner of Wiregrass Georgia Tech for many years, providing funds for many students and workforce development initiatives. The latest program of interest for Georgia Power is the upcoming Electrical Engineering Technology program slated to begin this fall. Kevin McCraney, South Region External Affairs Manager for Georgia Power stated, “The Georgia Power Foundation is proud to support the Engineering program at Wiregrass Technical College. Having a qualified workforce is a crucial component for Georgia to face global completion now and in the future. This is an excellent opportunity to educate our local workforce and retain that talent in South Georgia.”

Dr. Penelope Schmidt, Executive Director for WGTC Foundation South, is grateful for the ongoing relationship with Georgia Power and their Foundation. “They are excellent partners to have. Their partnership is helping us prepare the local area for economic growth and development. That is something that benefits the entire community – the workforce, their families, businesses and industries, and taxpayers.
