Bright, energetic and involved can all be used to describe Courtney Matthews, the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber’s Ambassador of the Quarter.

Matthews, serving her second year as an Ambassador, received the award after volunteering the most hours at Chamber events and programs over the past four months.

Chamber Ambassadors are professionals from local businesses who serve as the public relations arm of the Chamber, aiding in welcoming new businesses to the area. They can be recognized by their green jackets which symbolize prosperity, something they wish for every business in the community.

In addition to Matthew’s vital role as a Chamber Representative, she is the director of sales at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Conference Center.

General Manager Ron Wilson bragged on Matthews, stating, “She brings significant experience and an admirable depth of understanding to her endeavors. She has the ability to inspire those who work for and with her to give that extra bit of effort—the difference between the just acceptable and the outstanding in the hospitality industry.”
