South Georgia Committee to Host Employer Seminar Feb. 23 in Valdosta

The South Georgia Employer Committee and the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce will co-sponsor a seminar for employers on labor laws in the workplace.

The seminar will be held Thursday, Feb. 23, from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) Valdosta Career Center, located at 221 South Ashley St. in Valdosta.

The seminar will be led by John Monroe, Jr. and Geetha Nadiminti Adinata, attorneys with Ford and Harrison, LLP, a law firm in Atlanta. It will focus on updated labor laws, including immigration reform, discrimination, and harassment in the workplace. It is designed for business owners, human resource managers, supervisors, and entrepreneurs.

The cost of the seminar is $15 for those who pre-register by Monday, Feb. 20, and $20 for others. A continental breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m., along with registration.
