GDOL to Co-Host Moody Transition Workshop for Valdosta Employers Next Week

The Georgia Department of Labor and the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce will co-host The Operation Moody Transition workshop Tuesday, Aug. 18. The workshop is designed for employers to explain the benefits of hiring Moody Air Force Base personnel who are expected to be released from military service this fall.

The event will be held from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the GDOL’s Valdosta Career Center located at 221 South Ashley St.

The workshop will feature presentations by GDOL’s veterans staff, local educational institutions and current military members, who will discuss the numerous benefits of hiring veterans. Topics include: tax credit benefits, available skill sets of soon-to-be released military personnel and certification programs available for veterans that also are mutually beneficial to employers. The program will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
