Nominations Open for 2015 Winners in the Workplace

Staff Report From Valdosta CEO

Wednesday, March 4th, 2015

Nominations are now open for the 2015 Winners in the Workplace awards hosted by the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber, First State Bank & Trust Co. and Fresh Beginnings/ELead1one. Employers are encouraged to nominate those employees who have truly gone above and beyond the call of duty in the workplace. There will be a winner selected from each of the following categories: Small Business Employee, Small Business Supervisor, Large Business Employee and Large Business Supervisor.

“It was truly an honor to have been chosen as last year’s winner,” said Gerrell Aldridge, recruitment and sales manager at New Hire Solutions. “The experience was remarkable and humbling all at the same time.  I can't express the gratitude that I have towards my company for nominating me.”

Nominations are collected by the Chamber and judged by an independent committee of local business leaders. The four winners will be recognized at the Winners in the Workplace breakfast on May 5 at the Rainwater Conference Center. Each winner will receive a $1,500 check and other prizes.

The Winners in the Workplace breakfast was established to make the recognition of outstanding employees possible. The breakfast celebrates some of the best employees in the Valdosta area, coming with a wide range of professional backgrounds. This year’s event will feature experienced leadership trainer, consultant and educator, Bob Ganzak, as the keynote speaker. Ganzak is the general manager of Dale Carnegie Training of North Florida.

Nominees must be employed at Chamber member businesses to be considered.
