Savannah writer and social media professional Shawndra Russell released a new ebook yesterday filled with tips for how business owners can step up their social media game. The book debuted at #1 in Kindle Short Reads in the Computers & Technology category and is aimed at business owners who employee a social media manager or team to be the voice of their company. In addition, the book is for social media professionals so that they know the things they should be asking for in order to ensure that the social media program is effective and robust for any business they work with, including their own.

“I wrote this book to help both business owners and social media managers,” says Shawndra Russell. “I’ve seen a lot of mistakes being made that can be easily fixed with better communication and shifting your mindset away from traditional marketing.”

The digital book is $4.99 on Amazon and can be read on any device by downloading the free Kindle Reading Apps.

Russell has worked on social media for a $4 billion dollar snack food brand to local Savannah restaurants. She also teaches two courses at Armstrong Atlantic State University about social media for their Graduate Certificate in Professional Communication and Leadership. She also writes business profiles regularly for Georgia CEO.

“Just because you delegate your social media to someone else doesn’t mean you can just wash your hands of it,” Russell says. “Business owners and management must realize that two-way communication is essential between their social media manager or team, just like social media is a two-way conversation between your brand and your target audiences.”

Russell has a series of guest blogs coming out in the following weeks about helpful topics related to 51 Ways to Help Your Social Media Manager Crush It!, including blogs on and Business in Savannah. She’s currently working on another book coming out soon about how local businesses can better utilize social media and will be launching her Social Media Managers Bootcamp program in May, which you can sign up to be informed about at
