Coleman Talley LLP traces its roots to 1937 when B. Lamar Tillman began practicing law in downtown Valdosta.  Since then, the firm has grown to 28 attorneys, an additional office in Atlanta and a client base that extends across the Southeastern United States.

Coleman Talley has a sophisticated commercial practice area servicing commercial real estate and construction needs, creditors’ rights and affordable housing transactions.  Coleman Talley is also one of the largest defense litigation firms in South Georgia.  The firm also has a strong municipal law practice and has represented the city of Valdosta for approximately 65 years.

Coleman Talley attorneys invest their time to provide educational opportunities for businesses by hosting seminars and writing articles on legal issues with the potential to impact a large number of businesses in Georgia.  Their attorneys have spoken on immigration, health care reform, new business endeavors, bankruptcy law and the foreclosure process.

As a long-standing member of the Valdosta community, Coleman Talley frequently takes the lead in supporting area nonprofits and fundraising efforts.  For example, in May the firm participated in the first inaugural Georgia Legal Food Frenzy, a statewide food drive by Georgia law firms and legal organizations.  Coleman Talley was the winner of the Medium Firm size category with total pounds per employee at 780 lbs. and winner in the total overall pounds category with 36,655 total pounds.  All proceeds from the event benefited the Second Harvest Food Bank of South Georgia.  The firm has also served as the presenting sponsor for two consecutive years for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event donating more than $20,000.

“The firm is proud to be celebrating its 75th anniversary and looks forward to providing quality legal services for many years to come,” said Russ Henry, Managing Partner.  Henry added, “As we celebrate this milestone, our thoughts turn to those who have made our progress possible, so it is with warm appreciation, that we extend our sincerest thanks to our valued clients.”
