Transcript:
Hi, my name is Cyndi Tori. I’m an Economics Professor at Valdosta State University, with Langdale College of Business. At the Langdale College of Business we have some exciting news. We were reaffirmed for our AACSB accreditation. That covers only about 5% of business schools internationally, so that places us in a very high echelon of business schools worldwide. We also have many new programs coming online. Our MBA program is now going to full time program.
We are now offering an international business degree for our undergraduates, expanding our healthcare graduates or healthcare management as the Valdosta community and the state of Georgia has greater needs in healthcare area. And we are now offering, or planning to offer hopefully as it moves through the border regions, a minor in entrepreneurship. This will be for non-business majors, because we know that we have a lot of artists, musicians and others outside the College of Business that will begin businesses but don’t have that full business background. So this entrepreneurship will be a new way for them to learn about economics, accounting and finance, and give them the foundations for helping to start their small businesses.
In addition to those things, of course, the College of Business is expanding. We’re maintaining our high standards. We’re also participating in the honors college for VSU. So we’re trying to meet the needs of our local community and our regional community, to meet the needs of business leaders to prepare highly skilled students for the workforce.
