SGMC Health has named members of its Transfer Center team as Health System Heroes, recognizing their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to helping patients receive the right level of care, at the right location, at the right time. 

The recognition honors Victoria Wright, RN; Vicki Howell, RN; Kaitlin Klingemann, RN; Rossie McEady, RN; Georgianne Bauer, RN; Pamela Parker, RN; Brandi Montgomery, RN; Anna Jones, RN; Janet Galarraga, RN; and Regina Scott, RN. Together, these registered nurses play a vital role in coordinating patient care and access, working around the clock to connect patients, providers, and care teams across all four SGMC Health campuses. 

Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Transfer Center manages patient flow by coordinating admissions, transfers, bed placement, and capacity across the health system. This includes coordinating transfers with hospitals, clinics, emergency departments, and healthcare facilities throughout the region to help ensure seamless transitions of care.  

Their commitment to improving patient access extends to the Direct Admission Program, developed in partnership with clinical and operational leaders to provide a streamlined pathway for appropriate patients to access hospital care while helping reduce unnecessary emergency department congestion.

Despite increasing admission volumes and transfer requests, the Transfer Center continues to navigate a complex, rapidly changing environment with efficiency and professionalism. Their resilience, teamwork, and dedication directly support patient safety, hospital operations, and access to care throughout SGMC Health.
