SGMC Health Presents Weber with BEE Award

SGMC Health is proud to recognize nurse intern Jonathan Weber as this month’s recipient of the Being Extraordinary Everyday (BEE) Award. The award celebrates non-nursing team members who make a lasting difference through exceptional service, compassion, and dedication to patients and their families.
As a nurse intern who floats throughout the hospital, Weber is known for bringing the same level of care and kindness wherever he is needed. This month, he was honored after being nominated by two separate families whose loved ones received care in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Though their experiences were unrelated, both families shared a similar story of a caregiver who went above and beyond to provide comfort, encouragement, and support during difficult times.
One family reflected on the compassion Weber showed throughout a loved one’s lengthy recovery following open-heart bypass surgery. Another praised the exceptional care he provided to their grandfather, helping him feel comfortable, respected, and supported each day. The patient summed up his experience best, saying, “He has been overwhelmingly good to me. I couldn’t ask for anyone better.”
Both nominations described Weber’s ability to make patients and families feel cared for not only physically, but emotionally. His generosity, professionalism, and genuine concern for others embody the spirit of the BEE Award.
