Wednesday, July 29th, 2026
SGMC Health has named SGMC Cardiac Electrophysiology its Practice of the Quarter, recognizing the team for exceptional patient experiences and advanced heart rhythm care that continues to earn praise from patients across South Georgia and North Florida.
Led by Kamil Hanna, MD, and Daniel Sohinki, MD, the practice specializes in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation (AFib), tachycardia, and other electrical conditions of the heart. The team offers advanced therapies such as catheter ablations, pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, and comprehensive rhythm management designed to improve both heart health and quality of life.
Patients consistently highlighted Drs. Hanna and Sohinki for their expertise, clear communication, and compassionate approach to care. Many shared appreciation for the time physicians spent answering questions, explaining treatment options, and ensuring they felt informed and confident in their care decisions.
The entire practice team also received high marks for creating a welcoming, seamless experience from scheduling through follow-up care. Patients frequently described staff as friendly, responsive, and professional, with several noting they traveled hours to receive care at SGMC Cardiac Electrophysiology.
"Exceptional care starts with listening," said Brenda Alexander, Vice President of Physician Network and Chief Human Resources Officer. "Patients consistently tell us they feel valued, informed, and genuinely cared for by this team. Their commitment to both clinical excellence and compassion makes them highly deserving of this recognition."
The Practice of the Quarter award recognizes SGMC Health outpatient practices that excel in patient experience, teamwork, and quality of care.
SGMC Health's Physician Network includes 13 primary care locations and 26 specialty practices, providing more than 415,000 patient encounters annually and connecting patients throughout the region with both trusted primary care providers and highly specialized medical services.
