From Dual Enrollment to Radiologic Technology: Hannah Griffin Builds Her Future at Wiregrass
Monday, July 13th, 2026
When Hannah Griffin enrolled in Wiregrass Georgia Technical College's Dual Enrollment program while attending Cook High School, she wasn't just earning college credit—she was discovering the career path she wanted to pursue. Today, Griffin is continuing that journey as a student in Wiregrass's Radiologic Technology program, building on the academic foundation she established while still in high school.
A graduate of Cook County High School, Griffin completed 12 hours of Dual Enrollment coursework while in high school. Among her most beneficial classes were Anatomy and Physiology I Lecture and Lab and Medical Terminology, courses that aligned with her career goals and provided a strong academic foundation for her studies in Wiregrass's Radiologic Technology program.
Wiregrass Georgia Technical College remains committed to providing students with affordable pathways to higher education while supporting workforce development across South Georgia. Through Dual Enrollment, students have the opportunity to complete core coursework, explore career-focused classes, and discover their passions before entering college, helping them make informed decisions about their educational and professional futures.
"Dual enrollment allowed me to get the majority of my core classes done and eventually start classes with content related to my major all while in high school," Griffin said. "I was able to decide if I actually had an interest in the field I was pursuing before entering college. Now, I am one of the youngest students in my classes, and I am able to confidently say I am entering a career I love."
Griffin's experience reflects the opportunities available through Wiregrass Georgia Technical College's Dual Enrollment program. Eligible high school students can earn college credit while completing their high school diploma, allowing them to get a head start on college, explore career pathways, and make informed decisions about their future. Tuition, mandatory fees, and required textbooks are provided at no cost to eligible students through Georgia's Dual Enrollment program.
"Hannah's story is exactly what Dual Enrollment is designed to accomplish," said Brooke Jaramillo, Executive Director of High School Services at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. "Dual Enrollment gives students the opportunity to explore career interests, build confidence, and earn valuable college credit before graduating from high school. We are proud to see Hannah continuing her educational journey at Wiregrass as she prepares for a rewarding career in healthcare."
Griffin encourages future Dual Enrollment students to embrace the opportunity to explore new subjects and challenge themselves.
"I would tell any student considering Dual Enrollment to take advantage of it one hundred percent," Griffin said. "Dual Enrollment is the perfect opportunity to see what you like, so when you are ready to apply to college you have a much clearer idea of what interests you."
