Wiregrass Culinary Arts Team Wins People’s Choice Award at Valdosta Food and Wine Classic

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College is proud to announce that its Culinary Arts students and faculty received the People’s Choice Award at the 9th Annual Valdosta Food & Wine Classic, held on April 23, 2026.
The award recognized the Wiregrass team’s outstanding food presentation, creativity, and ability to connect with guests during the event. The People’s Choice Award reflects the support and enthusiasm of attendees and highlights the talent, professionalism, and dedication of the college’s Culinary Arts program.
Wiregrass Culinary Arts students worked alongside faculty to prepare and present dishes that showcased both technical skill and innovation. Their award-winning presentation stood out among participants for its quality, visual appeal, and guest experience.
As an educator, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing students apply their skills in a real- world setting and be recognized for their hard work,” said Chef Brenda Griffin, Culinary Arts Program Coordinator. “This award belongs to our students and faculty who dedicated their time, talent, and passion to creating an exceptional experience for attendees. We are honored to represent Wiregrass and grateful for the community’s support.
The Valdosta Food & Wine Classic brings together culinary professionals, community supporters, and food enthusiasts from across the region to celebrate exceptional cuisine and hospitality. Wiregrass’ participation in the event reflects the college’s commitment to providing hands-on learning opportunities that prepare students for successful careers in the culinary and hospitality industries.
