Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026
Today, Burlington Stores, one of the fastest-growing national off-price retailers, celebrates the opening of its newest distribution center in Ellabell, Georgia. The facility is Burlington’s largest and most advanced distribution center to date, developed with flexibility and efficiency in mind.
Fundamentals for Success
Powered by more than 25 miles of conveyor and automation, Burlington’s latest facility is engineered to keep pace with the off-price landscape. The new climate-controlled distribution center features advanced systems and cutting-edge technology, integrating smarter sortation systems, enhanced workstations and custom software to streamline daily operations. These enhancements are intended to boost productivity, efficiency and overall workflow, helping merchandise reach store shelves faster, and giving customers the opportunity to find something new every time they shop.
“This distribution center marks an important supply chain milestone for Burlington,” said Greg Shultz, executive vice president and chief supply chain officer at Burlington. “The facility’s substantial size, smart workflow design and advanced technologies are a first for the brand. Burlington is known for offering a wide array of top-quality branded merchandise for the whole family and home. As our brand continues to grow and evolve, it is imperative that our supply chain infrastructure does as well.”
In addition to the 2-million-square-foot distribution center, the new site also features a 40,000-square-foot office space complete with:
-
Full-service cafeteria
-
Fitness center
-
Locker room with showers
-
Meditation room
-
Dedicated maternity room
-
Plentiful office spaces and meeting rooms
The opening comes at a pivotal time for the brand, as Burlington expects to open approximately 115 net new stores nationwide by the end of fiscal 2026. All new stores feature Burlington’s reimagined store layout, which reflects the brand’s broader strategy to modernize its stores. The refreshed format includes wider, more organized aisles and bold signage, making it easier than ever for shoppers to find the brands and must-have trends they know and love. Over half of Burlington’s existing locations have already converted to the new layout, with all remaining stores expected to transition by the end of fiscal 2026.
This distribution center is one of many for Burlington and proudly marks the company’s first location in Georgia. At full capacity, the center is estimated to bring approximately 1,500 new jobs and career opportunities to Ellabell and the surrounding area.
As Burlington continues to expand its footprint, the brand remains focused on finding great talent to join the growing company. Those interested in joining an award-winning culture are encouraged to visit BurlingtonStores.jobs to apply for a variety of exciting and rewarding positions.
