71st Rescue Squadron Welcomes New Commander

Today, the 71st Rescue Squadron welcomed Lt. Col. Brendan de Brun as commander during a change of command ceremony. The ceremony marked the formal transfer of leadership from Lt. Col. Nicholas Thompson, while recognizing the squadron’s continued commitment to personnel recovery and combat rescue operations.
As the U.S. Air Force celebrates 250 years of service, the ceremony highlighted a legacy of leadership, readiness, and dedication carried forward by today’s Airmen. The transition reflects the enduring mission of rescue forces to remain prepared to answer the nation’s call whenever and wherever needed.
