Seniors at Wiregrass Regional College and Career Academy (WRCCA) are graduating with significant college and career momentum through dual enrollment with Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (WGTC).

The Class of 2026, made up of 72 seniors, earned a combined 1,722 college credit hours and 133 Technical Certificates of Credit while still completing their high school education. Through dual enrollment, students saved an estimated $184,254 in tuition costs, easing the financial burden of postsecondary education.

“These outcomes demonstrate what is possible when students are given access, support, and high expectations,” said DeAnnia Clements. “Our partnership with WRCCA is helping students accelerate their education, gain workforce credentials, and graduate prepared for what comes next.”

WGTC High School Services also praised the seniors’ dedication and growth.

“Students may call me the ‘Dual Enrollment Lady,’ but the real story is their hard work,” said Lisa Cox. “Earning more than 1,700 college credit hours and 133 technical certificates before high school graduation is extraordinary. These students have invested in their futures, and I’m incredibly proud of them.”

The partnership between WRCCA and WGTC continues to provide students with opportunities to explore career pathways, complete college coursework, and enter the workforce or continue their education with a strong foundation already in place. Leaders say the collaboration helps students gain confidence, save money, and better prepare for long-term success after graduation.

“It is inspiring to watch our students embrace the challenge of dual enrollment,” said Pam Smith, Principal/CEO of WRCCA. “This program is more than just a head start; it’s a powerful bridge that connects high school excellence with the future demands of college and the workforce.”

As graduation approaches, WGTC and WRCCA leaders are celebrating not only the academic achievements of this year’s seniors, but the strong futures they are prepared to pursue through college, careers, or both.
