Thursday, May 21st, 2026
Registration is now open for Summer Camps at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, where middle and high school students can explore in-demand careers, build practical skills, and engage in hands-on learning.
Designed for students ages 11–16, the camps will take place throughout June and July at the Valdosta, Ben Hill-Irwin, and Coffee campuses. Each camp offers interactive, engaging experiences in high-demand career fields, led by experienced instructors in a fun and supportive environment.
All camps will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This year’s Summer Camp lineup includes:
• June 1–4 — Beats & Bytes: Music Production & Coding Camp — Valdosta Campus — $75
• June 8–11 — VR & Heavy Equipment: Virtual Reality & Heavy Equipment Operation — Ben Hill-Irwin Campus — $75
• June 15–17 — Medical Career Exploration Camp — Coffee Campus — $60
• July 13–16 — Medical Career Exploration Camp — Valdosta Campus — $75
“These camps are more than just summer activities—they are an introduction to the workforce,” said Joshua Whittington, Executive Director of Economic Development. “By giving students early exposure to high-demand industries like healthcare, construction, advanced manufacturing, and technology, we are helping them see the connection between education and real career opportunities right here in South Georgia. Experiences like these can shape future career paths and strengthen our regional workforce pipeline.”
Each camp emphasizes hands-on learning, allowing students to work with the tools, technology, and techniques used in today’s workforce. Whether students are interested in coding and music production, operating heavy equipment and virtual simulation, or exploring careers in healthcare, Wiregrass Summer Camps offer something for a wide range of interests.
Space is limited for each camp, and early registration is encouraged. To register or learn more about additional training and courses offered through Economic Development, visit https://ce.wiregrass.edu or call 229-333-2122.
