The Rainwater Conference Center has announced the addition of Michelle Pessia as their new Executive Chef, effective May 11, 2026. Bringing more than 15 years of culinary management experience to the role, Pessia will oversee culinary operations and help elevate the dining and hospitality experience for visitors and guests in Valdosta and Lowndes County.

Pessia earned her diploma in Culinary Arts from Owensboro Community and Technical College and has built an extensive background in culinary leadership throughout her career. Her previous experience includes serving as Executive Chef, Sous Chef and Lead Kitchen Supervisor at the Owensboro Convention Center, where she developed a reputation for operational excellence, creativity and exceptional customer service.

Throughout her career, Pessia has demonstrated strong leadership skills and expertise in culinary arts and is experienced in preparing a wide variety of cuisines. Her professional experience also includes menu development, food preparation and presentation, and overall kitchen management. Known for her culinary innovation, Pessia brings a passion for delivering memorable dining experiences while maintaining operational excellence.
