SGMC Health announces that SGMC Interventional Physiatry under the leadership of Robert Kirtley, MD, has been recognized as a Center of Excellence by Sonex Health, honoring Dr. Kirtley’s expertise in ultrasound‑guided carpal tunnel release and trigger finger release.

The Center of Excellence designation is awarded to physicians and practices that demonstrate advanced training, experience, and a strong commitment to delivering high‑quality, patient‑focused care using ultrasound‑guided techniques. This recognition places SGMC Interventional Physiatry among a select group of practices nationwide providing this specialized level of care.
Ultrasound‑guided carpal tunnel and trigger finger release procedures are designed to be less invasive than traditional surgical approaches and can often be performed using local anesthesia in a comfortable outpatient setting. These techniques allow physicians to precisely target the source of symptoms while minimizing disruption to surrounding tissue, supporting a smoother recovery experience for patients.

“Our focus is always on delivering the right care, at the right time, close to home,” said Robert Kirtley, MD. “This Center of Excellence designation reflects our ongoing commitment to bringing advanced treatment options and exceptional care to the communities we serve.”

Dr. Kirtley provides these procedures through SGMC Interventional Physiatry, expanding access to innovative treatment options for patients experiencing hand and wrist conditions that can interfere with work, daily activities, and quality of life.

Patients who are experiencing symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome or trigger finger and would like to learn more about ultrasound‑guided treatment options are encouraged to contact SGMC Interventional Physiatry at 229‑433‑4350.
