SGMC Health is pleased to announce the promotion of Kara Hope Rockwell to Director of Marketing and Brand Experience.

In this role, Rockwell will lead SGMC Health’s marketing and brand initiatives, ensuring a consistent and engaging experience for patients, employees, and the community. She will oversee internal and external communications and guide strategies that strengthen SGMC Health’s brand presence and support organizational growth.

Rockwell joined SGMC Health in 2022 as a Marketing & PR Specialist and was promoted to Marketing Manager in 2023. During her tenure, SGMC Health’s marketing team has won seven industry awards for its campaigns, video projects, and podcast. A Valdosta native, she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Valdosta State University.

Every day, I get the privilege of highlighting the incredible work of our team and the experiences of our patients and families. Rockwell has a passion for community engagement and dedicates her time to initiatives that make a meaningful impact. She serves as a board member for the Greater Valdosta United Way and chairs the Valdosta City Schools Foundation board. She is also a member of the South Georgia Public Relations Society of America and the Georgia Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations. Rockwell is a graduate of the 2019 class of Leadership Lowndes and the 2024 class of GeorgiaForward Young Gamechangers. She was honored as the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce's Young Professional of the Year in 2022.

She is married to Brandon Rockwell, MD, an Internal Medicine resident physician at SGMC Health. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and watching football.
