Georgia DOT Awards $86.3M in Contracts in October

The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) awarded a total of 22 projects valued at approximately $86.3 million at the monthly State Transportation Board meeting held in October. Contracts were awarded to the lowest qualified bidders on October 31, 2025.
The largest single resurfacing project is valued at approximately $31 million and proposes 17.245 miles of milling and plant mix resurfacing on I-75/State Route (SR) 401 beginning at the Florida state line and extending north of US 84/SR 38 in Lowndes County. This contract and six other resurfacing projects total approximately $62.5 million and represent 72 percent of the total funds awarded.
The largest construction contract, valued at approximately $3.2 million, proposes 0.150 mile of construction of a bridge and approaches on Madola Road (County Road 159) over Fightingtown Creek in Fannin County. This contract and six other construction projects total approximately $14.3 million and represent 17 percent of the total funds awarded.
The largest bridge rehabilitation contract included in the announcement, valued at approximately $2 million, proposes bridge rehabilitation at various locations in Clayton and Fulton counties. This contract and four other bridge rehabilitation projects total approximately $6.7 million and represent 8 percent of the total funds awarded.
There are three safety contracts from the announcement totaling approximately $2.7 million which represent the remaining 3 percent of the total funds awarded. The largest project is valued at approximately $1.3 million and includes LED lighting system upgrades on I-20/SR 402 beginning at Capitol Avenue and extending to Flat Shoals Road in DeKalb and Fulton counties.
The Award Announcement list for October (includes rejected and or deferred projects). Bids for Design-Bid-Build projects were received on October 17, and contracts were awarded to the lowest qualified bidders on October 31, 2025.
The Supplemental Award Announcement (includes previously deferred projects that have now been let) includes a construction contract valued at approximately $6 million which proposes 0.426 mile of construction on two bridges and approaches on Palmer Road (CR 305) over Little Ochlocknee River and Little Ochlocknee River overflow in Thomas County.
The October awards bring the total construction contracts for Fiscal Year 2026, which began on July 1, 2025, to approximately $1.17 billion. This total includes TIA, Design-Bid-Build, and locally administered projects. Fiscal Year 2026 will conclude June 30, 2026.
