Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Monday, October 6th, 2025

Girls on the Run South Georgia will host its Fall 2025 Girls on the Run 5K, presented by the Lowndes County Employees with support from the City of Valdosta, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Historic Lowndes County Courthouse (100 E. Central Ave, Valdosta). This event marks the culmination of a season dedicated to empowering young girls through running, teamwork, and personal growth.

Over the course of the season, participants have engaged in lessons designed to foster confidence, resilience, and a sense of community. The 5K serves as a tangible goal, allowing girls to celebrate their achievements with the support of their families, friends, and community members.

“The 5K is more than just a race; it’s a celebration of the hard work and dedication our girls have shown throughout the season,” said Mary Crawford, CEO of Girls on the Run South Georgia. “It’s a day where they can see how far they’ve come and feel proud of their accomplishments.”

The event is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend. All 5K participants must be registered and wearing a race bib on the course. For more information about the 5K and to register, please visit www.girlsontherunsouthgeorgia.org/5k-south-georgia.
