Wiregrass Faculty and Staff Complete Leadership Academy Cohort

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College proudly announces the completion of Cohort 6 of the Wiregrass Leadership Academy, a professional development program designed to strengthen leadership skills among the college's faculty and staff.
Over the past six months, participants engaged in a series of interactive modules focused on essential leadership skills, including Communication, Managing Teams, Conflict Resolution, Leading Through Change, and Motivating Employees. The program concluded on Thursday, August 21, with a final session titled “Motivating Employees to Be Their Best” and an interactive review of the entire leadership journey.
Held on the Valdosta Campus, the academy brought together faculty and staff from across the college, who demonstrated outstanding commitment, collaboration, and growth throughout the training.
“Cohort 6 has been an exceptional group,” shared program facilitator Millie Ward. “It has been a true pleasure working with these dedicated professionals as they challenged themselves to grow as leaders. The skills and insights they gained will have a lasting impact on their teams, students, and the Wiregrass community as a whole.”
Cohort 6 participants include: Jason Brewer, Welding Instructor (Coffee Campus); Amanda Courson, Neuromuscular Massage Therapy Program Coordinator (Valdosta Campus); Traci Greinke, Enrollment Management Coordinator (Valdosta Campus); Danni Hendrix, Mathematics Instructor (Valdosta Campus); Darrell Hill, Director of Adult Education/Data Manager (Valdosta Campus); Gracie Johnson, Student Accounts Specialist (Valdosta Campus); Michael Peeples, Maintenance Specialist (Valdosta Campus); Shawn Phippen, Biology Instructor (Valdosta Campus); Kirsten Thompson, Career Plus (CPH) Coordinator (Ben Hill-Irwin Campus); Jessica Thornhill, Director of Economic Development (Valdosta Campus); Joe Weatherford, Campus Police Officer (Ben Hill-Irwin Campus); and Levi White, English Instructor (Valdosta Campus).
The Wiregrass Leadership Academy is part of the college's ongoing effort to develop strong leaders within the institution. By providing faculty and staff with leadership tools and strategies, the academy enhances teamwork, communication, and organizational effectiveness—ensuring continued excellence in serving students and industry partners.
