SGMC Health Welcomes Roberta Baah-Sackey, MD, to Internal Medicine Residency Program Faculty

SGMC Health is pleased to welcome Roberta Baah-Sackey, MD, to its Internal Medicine team as a faculty member of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) program. Dr. Baah-Sackey brings a passion for hospital medicine, a commitment to patient-centered care, and a strong dedication to medical education.

Dr. Baah-Sackey is a board-certified internal medicine physician with specialized experience in hospital medicine. Her decision to pursue internal medicine was driven by a desire to solve complex medical problems and build long-term relationships with patients.  

With a strong focus on wellness and preventative medicine, Dr. Baah-Sackey is known for her empathetic approach and attentive listening. “Empathy and listening to the concerns of patients is a priority,” she says. “Patients can expect compassionate, thoughtful care when they are under my watch.”

She is excited to join SGMC Health, where she will serve as an attending physician for Internal Medicine resident physicians completing their training. “I’ll be part of a mission-driven team that serves the people of South Georgia with quality healthcare,” she says. “I’m also thrilled to help shape the next generation of physicians.”

Dr. Baah-Sackey earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her residency at the University of Connecticut.  

Outside of medicine, Dr. Baah-Sackey enjoys swimming and watching soccer and looks forward to becoming part of the South Georgia community.
