Joshua A. Carroll, partner at the Law Offices of Buzzell, Welsh & Hill, has been elected as the 70th president of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA). Josh was officially sworn in as president for 2025-26 on Friday, April 25, at the President’s Gala, a featured event held at the InterContinental Hotel in Atlanta, GA.

During his one-year term, Josh will oversee the Executive Committee, preside over GTLA Officer meetings, and work with the association’s CEO and staff regarding daily decision-making and policy strategy.

“It has been such a rewarding experience to be a part of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and it is the highest honor to now be elected by GTLA members to serve as the association’s 70th president,” said Josh. “I look forward to leading and supporting our exceptional members as they uphold Georgia’s civil justice system and fight for fairness and justice for their clients.”

Josh’s top priorities as president are to continue and improve upon GTLA’s high-quality educational seminars, work to identify challenges to certain provisions of Senate Bill 68 that GTLA believes to be unconstitutional, and continue to protect clients' rights at the Capitol.

“We are so proud of Josh for this major accomplishment,” said Stephen Welsh, managing partner of Buzzell, Welsh & Hill. “Josh is a huge asset to our firm, his clients, and the GTLA. As president, we know he is going to lead the association with wisdom, confidence, and a strong commitment to supporting lawyers and their clients across the state of Georgia.”
