The Enay Foundation headquartered in Valdosta is actively expanding its footprint, working to strengthen networks and improve outcomes of the state’s foster care ecosystem with support including a $25,000 investment from the Georgia Power Foundation this past summer.

While working with stakeholders for systemic change across the state, The Enay Foundation also provides direct services to youth in care through a three-part system of support to demonstrate what it takes to close the gaps: Professional Development & Conflict Resiliency Support for Youth & Caregivers, Fully-Mentored Transition Support, and Foster Care-to-Career Pipeline Support.

“Over the years, we’ve seen a persistent problem in the world of foster care, particularly among those 16 and up. There is a vast sea of resources available to youth currently in care as well as for those who have aged out, but so much of it never reaches the ones who need it most. The system has good intentions— now it’s time to match those intentions with stronger outcomes,” said Elton Dixon, Enay Foundation CEO.

“We’ve been refining the models for our work on a small scale, and now we’re building the capacity to share our practices and achieve these outcomes through a statewide network. All of us at the Enay Foundation express our deepest gratitude for the Georgia Power Foundation’s support, and we look forward to a growing partnership for years to come.”

“Investing in programs that empower youth and caregivers with professional development, conflict resiliency, and transition support isn’t just charity—it’s a commitment to building a brighter future,” said Joe Brownlee, Georgia Power Regional Director. “These initiatives provide young people, especially those transitioning out of foster care, with the tools and mentorship they need to thrive in their personal and professional lives. We are proud to stand behind a foster care-to-career pipeline that offers not just hope, but opportunity, paving the way for lifelong success.”
