One Valdosta-Lowndes to Announce Synergy 2030 Plan; Capital Campaign Progress
Wednesday, September 11th, 2024
Community leaders and business partners across Lowndes County are set to convene Thursday, September 12, to celebrate the success and progress of the One Valdosta-Lowndes Foundation’s Synergy 2030 Strategic Plan. Kicking off the organization’s capital campaign, One Valdosta-Lowndes (OVL) will share the vision for the strategic economic development initiative through a joint program with city and county officials, school system representation from Lowndes County Schools and Valdosta City Schools, as well as participation from key members of the Lowndes County business community and faith leadership. Truly a celebration of community and progress, the event will showcase the strategic plan and announce progress made towards its investment goals.
Set to raise $3.5 million over the next five years, the organization hopes to leverage those investments into greater economic impact that will improve the lives of individuals and the bottom lines of businesses throughout the community. OVL Director Mary Beth Brownlee shares her excitement for the event, “This community’s leadership has worked tirelessly to bring this legacy initiative to fruition. To be able to share in their success on Thursday and to be able to publicly announce our collective vision for the future for Lowndes County, Valdosta, Dasher, Hahira and Lake Park, is an honor—one I think all of our community can be proud of and celebrate.”
The Synergy 2030 Kick-Off event will be held Thursday, September 12, at the Lowndes County Historic Courthouse in downtown Valdosta from 5-7pm.
Brownlee continues, “We believe through the collaborative approach of One Valdosta-Lowndes that we have a powerful story to tell of our community and our desire to lead South Georgia—economically, culturally and through education. The Synergy 2030 Kick-Off allows us the opportunity to share that story locally, regionally and with our friends and partners around the state.”
