Bobby Jones Links (BJL), the golf industry’s leading client-centric, boutique management company, congratulates Joshua Deal, PGA General Manager at Bobby Jones Golf Course in Atlanta, on being elected as the 29th president of the Georgia Section, PGA of America.

Deal is a 2009 graduate of the University of Connecticut and 2011 Professional Golfers Career College. He was elected to PGA membership in 2016. Deal has been General Manager at Bobby Jones Golf Course since March of 2022 while simultaneously serving as the Vice President of Operations for Bobby Jones Links, a PGA member founded club management company headquartered in Alpharetta. Deal will also serve as the President of the PGA REACH Georgia Foundation. Deal resides with his wife, Leann and their two children in Buford, Ga.

So, the work starts now. My role with Bobby Jones Links and overseeing several different types of properties within the portfolio and Section gives me a unique viewpoint. I have gotten to know a lot of the Georgia PGA Professionals, and we serve a lot of them through Bobby Jones Links.”

Opened in 1932 as a tribute to Bobby Jones and the City of Atlanta transferred ownership of the property to the State in 2016. It reopened after a $33 million redevelopment project in late November 2018 – no public funds were used – transforming the 18-hole course into a Bob Cupp designed nine-hole reversible layout. It took two more years to complete the other complimentary facilities, which include state-of-the-art practice facilities and the property’s centerpiece, the Murray Golf House, which serves many roles. It’s the clubhouse for Bobby Jones Golf Course and is home to the Georgia State Golf Association, Georgia PGA Section, and Georgia Golf Hall of Fame. Boone’s restaurant is a destination upscale eatery featuring American cuisine with a beautiful view of the golf course and Atlanta skyline. Today, Bobby Jones Golf Course is a shining example of how a golf facility can galvanize a community and truly grow the game of golf.
