South Georgia Introduced to Air Force's F-35 Jets

South Georgia’s political leadership got an update and a close-up view of the new fighter jet coming to Moody Air Force Base during two events this week — a cockpit view, in fact.

Tuesday, Sen. Jon Ossoff hosted Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David W. Allvin in a trip to Air Force bases around Georgia, including Moody. At the base in Lowndes County, briefings and discussions among base leadership centered on preparations for bringing the new F-35 Joint Strike Fighter to Moody in coming years, replacing the venerable A-10C “Warthog.”
