Girls on the Run South Georgia will host its 2024 Lip Sync Battle presented by CBC Bank on Tuesday, August 20 at the Patterson in Valdosta.  This year’s theme is based on the Oscars and local celebrities will choreograph lip sync performances based on popular movie songs.  Always lively and upbeat, the Lip Sync Battle is a fun night for a great cause says GORTSGA Executive Director Mary Crawford, “Everybody loves the movies so this year’s Lip Sync Battle is sure to be the most fun yet.  Every dollar raised by Girls on the Run South Georgia supports our mission of making girls more joyful, healthy, and confident.”

Crowd Participation Is The Key

Performers will be pitted against each other in a battle with a Champion crowned at the end of the night.  Attendees select the Champion by voting with their dollars for each performer.  The performer that raises the most money is the Champion.  But that’s not all.  Attendees will have the opportunity to win “Oscars” of their own in categories such as Most Star-like Appearance, Best Decorated Table, Best Dressed (Sponsored by Only Options), and Table Having the Most Fun.  In addition there will be a 50/50 raffle and a new crowd game called Heads or Tails in which participants purchase a “blinky” ring and compete for a $500 gift certificate provides by Steel’s Jewelry.  “Our goal is for every person that comes to Lip Sync to have a blast,” Crawford continued, “our committee of amazing volunteers has worked very hard to put together a night that has never before been experienced in Valdosta and we are very excited!”
