SGMC Health EHR Achieves 'Gold Stars Level 9' Designation

SGMC Health is proud to announce that it has been awarded the esteemed Gold Stars Level 9 designation by Epic Systems Corporation. This significant achievement places SGMC Health in the top 35 percent of health systems nationwide utilizing the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system.
This accolade recognizes SGMC Health’s successful adoption of at least 85 percent of Epic’s Gold Star features. These features are critical benchmarks across various domains, including patient access, patient experience, clinical quality and safety, population health management, physician productivity, and nursing and clinical team productivity.
Epic’s Gold Stars Program is designed to assist healthcare organizations in comprehending and maximizing the capabilities of their EHR systems while identifying areas for future enhancement. By achieving Level 9, SGMC Health demonstrates its dedication to continuous improvement and excellence in healthcare delivery.

With this recognition, SGMC Health not only stands out for its advanced use of Epic’s comprehensive features but also sets a benchmark for other healthcare organizations aiming to elevate their EHR utilization. This accomplishment underscores SGMC Health’s strategic investments in digital health technologies and its unwavering focus on patient-centered care.
There are currently more than 4,500 healthcare professionals utilizing SGMC Health's Epic platform for documentation. Every patient treated at one of SGMC's Health's facilities receives access to their MyChart portal where they can easily and securely access test results, manage appointments, and communicate with their providers.
