Valdosta City Schools Recognizes a New Cohort of REACH Scholars
Monday, February 26th, 2024
Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen, also known as REACH Georgia, is a need-based mentoring and scholarship program that provides promising students with the support to graduate from high school and achieve postsecondary success. REACH scholars are paired with mentors who model positive behavior and provide students with knowledge, advice, guidance, and support related to education and beyond.
By becoming a REACH Scholar, these students can receive up to $10,000 to be used towards the cost of attendance at a HOPE-eligible postsecondary institution in the state of Georgia. This is in addition to any other grant or scholarship the eligible student may receive.
Rusbin Bartolon from Valdosta Early College Academy, Angela Mitchell from J.L. Newbern Middle School, Sophia Moore from Valdosta Middle School, Leandro Morejon Vazquez from J.L. Newbern Middle School, and Sheraiya Williams from Valdosta Middle School all officially signed their scholarship agreements during the REACH Georgia Scholars Signing Day ceremony. We are incredibly proud of each of them and their diligent work in preparing financially for their future.
