Georgia Power Retirees Donate More 11,500 Hours of Service to the Community in 2021
Thursday, August 19th, 2021
Georgia Power Ambassadors – the retiree volunteer organization of the company – have donated more 11,500 hours of their time to serve their local communities since the beginning of 2021. From making face masks for the pandemic, baking treats for first responders, doing art projects for area nursing homes, building ramps for handicapped homes, crocheting blankets for children in need and more, the company’s retirees and their spouses continue to make a difference across the state.
“I am so proud of our Ambassador family,” said Gail Johnson, Ambassadors' state president. “These folks have stepped up and continued to think outside the box to serve others while staying safe themselves. When it comes to assisting in our communities, they have found unique ways to reach out to those in need. Our members have truly proven that ‘Ambassadors are a work of heart.”
Georgia Power Ambassadors is a 501C10 organization supported by Georgia Power. Membership consists of retirees from Georgia Power, Southern Company and Southern Nuclear
