The Valdosta Junior Service league has partnered with the South Georgia Medical Center Foundation to “Pant Valdosta Pink” this October. This fundraising effort seeks to support breast cancer awareness. Proceeds will benefit breast cancer patients at the Pearlman Cancer Center.

The VJSL and the SGMC Foundation are asking individuals and businesses to join in on this initiative by purchasing a pink bow for their mailbox/door and a residential or commercial yard sign.

According to SGMC Foundation Executive Director Elizabeth Vickers, “This is a great way for the community to come together and support breast cancer patient’s right here locally. The Pearlman Cancer Center encourages the community to rally together to generate philanthropic support for our patients. Our goal is to enhance our programs by possibly offering boutique type services with a certified fitter for prosthetics along with the opportunity to order post-surgery products at little or no cost.”

Individuals, businesses, and organizations can place their order via the Foundation websitewww.sgmcfoundation.org/paintvaldostapink. The VJSL and the Foundation ask that all orders be placed by this Monday, Sept. 28.
