State Representative Darlene Taylor (R-Thomasville) was recently appointed by Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) to serve as the chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation for the remainder of the 2019-2020 legislative term.
“I am grateful for the opportunity that House leadership has given me, and I look forward to serving in this new capacity,” said Rep. Taylor. “I am committed to protecting Georgia taxpayer dollars as we help determine the best way to wisely allocate funding that improves and fortifies our state’s transportation systems.”
Chairman Taylor was appointed by Speaker Ralston to help efficiently and effectively lead the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation ahead of the 2020 legislative session. Under the authority of the House Appropriations Committee, this subcommittee will specifically consider portions of the state budget that impact Georgia’s transportation systems and infrastructure.
The House Appropriations Committee is comprised of eight subcommittees that are tasked with drafting the state’s amended and general fiscal year budgets for Georgia’s state agencies and departments. The committee also hears legislation that has considerable impact on the state revenue or expenditures.
