Friday, October 4th, 2019

First Lady Marty Kemp visited the Greater Valdosta United Way (GVUW) office Wednesday, October 2, 2019.  Mrs. Kemp toured the GVUW headquarters and newly remodeled financial classroom and nonprofit meeting building on the premises.

During First Lady Kemp’s visit, she spoke with representatives from our partner agencies Children’s Advocacy Center and The Haven. She was also able to speak with Michael Smith, Executive Director of GVUW and Meredith Brasher, Senior Assistant District Attorney for Southern Judicial Circuit, on programs being offered and important issues affecting the South Georgia region. Mrs. Kemp’s platform is to combat human trafficking, promote the Georgia Grown initiative, and promote animal adoption across Georgia.

“We were proud to host First Lady Kemp and have her support of the United Way’s efforts to mobilize caring people and businesses,” stated Smith. “Her platform aligns with GVUW’s vision to better the lives of all of our community members.”
