National Public Works Week

We celebrate the men and women of the Public Works department and everything that they do in order to keep our community clean. “It Starts Here” is the theme for the 2019 National Public Works Week. This theme represents the many facets of that grow out of the efforts put forth by the public works professionals across the country.

The Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority is responsible for the proper applications of those powers associated with the promotion and encouragement of the location and expansion of industry, agriculture, trade, and commerce in Valdosta and Lowndes County.

The purpose of the Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks & Recreation Authority is to provide parks and recreation services throughout Lowndes County.  
 
Valdosta City Council Meeting
5:30 PM - Council Chambers
The Mayor and the members of the City Council invite and encourage citizens to attend City Council meetings whenever possible because good government depends on the interest and involvement of citizens.  City Council meetings are held on the first and third Thursday following the first Sunday of the month, although changes may be necessary to avoid conflict with holidays.  All City Council meetings are open to the general public
