United Way Seeks Next Director

Greater Valdosta United Way board of directors has opened the search for a new executive director.
Steve Jaramillo, current executive director, has announced plans to resign at the end of the month to pursue other opportunities, according to a statement from the United Way.
“Greater Valdosta United Way thanks Steve for his three years of leadership," said Jonathan Miller, Greater Valdosta United Way board chairman. "Steve is leaving the agency in a much better place and we will forever appreciate his contribution. Greater Valdosta United Way has and will always support Steve and we wish him well in his next endeavor.”
“I am thankful for the opportunities that the Greater Valdosta United Way has provided me," Jaramillo said. "I will always be an advocate for the Greater Valdosta United Way because the mission is vital to our community. The future of the Greater Valdosta United Way is as exciting and important as the 65 years of service have been.”
The Greater Valdosta United Way board of directors is actively recruiting potential candidates to fill the position. Ideal candidates would have experience in non-profit management, fundraising, volunteer organization, leadership and general office management, according to the United Way statement.
The Greater Valdosta United Way has been serving the communities of Berrien, Brooks, Echols, Lanier and Lowndes counties for 65 years and the next executive director will be crucial in leading the Greater Valdosta United Way into the next era of the organization.
